WHO IS JESUS?
No words are adequate to truly describe Jesus. The following description is an attempt
to describe some of who he is.
Jesus is God in the flesh, the word coming to life. (John 1:1) He is greater than we can
comprehend or imagine. He is love described by the Greek word agape. (1 John 3:16).
He is selfless, sacrificial, initiating, and unconditional in his ability to love.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. (John 14:6) His way of living and view of this
world is the best possible path that each of us can take. He makes us become the best
version of who we were created to be. He is the truth, there is no dishonesty in him. He
loves and teaches with his life; there is no evil in him. He is the life. He is the role model
for life and our hero. His life leads to life on the earth and in eternity. His life takes us
through the emptiness, the pain, and the disappointment on this earth and into an
eternity of love and peace.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the Scriptures demonstrating the validity and truth of the Bible
as well as the power and love of God. (Luke 24:44-49) He existed before time began
and will exist endlessly in the future. (2 Timothy 1:9) He is the hope for mankind now
and forever.
Jesus is holy. He is without sin and perfect in character. His power and strength are
unlimited. He created the universe and everything in it. He sustains the universe
through his power. In spite of his great strength and power, he is the picture of humility.
He was willing to make himself vulnerable and weak by coming to the earth and being subject to
temptation. He is Lord and King He’s the ruler of all places and people. He deserves
honor, respect, and obedience.
Jesus loves you. He died for you. He is the resurrection and the life. (John 11:25) He is
the victory. (1 Corinthians 15:56,57). He is faithful and will never abandon you. He is our
savior.
