"What do these stones mean?"

In Joshua 3, the nation of Israel witnesses God stopping the waters of the Jordan River, allowing His people to cross over safely. In Joshua 4, God commands a man from each of the twelve tribes of Israel to gather a stone from the riverbed where they had crossed. He instructs them to build a memorial with these stones. He does this so that "in the future, when your children ask their fathers, 'What is the meaning of these stones?' you should tell your children, 'Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.' For the Lord your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, just as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over. This is so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord's hand is mighty, and so that you may always fear the Lord your God." (Joshua 4:21-24)

The Israelites had a memorial to remind them of God's faithfulness and power. The hope with these videos is that we can build a similar memorial here at Crossway. Videos will feature members' stories, serving as metaphorical stones collected over the years. These stories demonstrate God's hand at work in our lives. We pray these videos will encourage others in the body and provide a stronger foundation of faith.
